Judith Coville Conrad

Red Barns of St. Mary's County

The Barns of St. Mary’s County by Judy Conrad

September is the North End Gallery’s founding anniversary month, so it is fitting that our members chose to honor Judith Coville Conrad with a retrospective of her work during this month. Judy was a very special member of the gallery. Her beautiful paintings and woven work graced the gallery over the years in both member shows and her own feaatured shows. Sadly Judy lost her battle with COPD earlier this year, dying peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

Judy was special in another way. She generously bought the building that houses the gallery. This commitment has allowed the gallery to continue into the 21st century. She was an active member, serving as Treasurer for many years, and also as President for a term. Judy was an accomplished artist not only in oils and pastels but also as a weaver, knitter and Master Gardener.
We have all been fortunate to have known Judy as
a member and a friend.
